THE ROCK MOUNTING TEMPLE

First of all, this is the location - Rock Mountain Temple. And this is the visual story of this spectacular place.

This temple was unlike any I’ve seen: modest yet breathtaking, surrounded by mountains, trees, towering rocks, and vibrant flowers. It’s haven for peace and reflection. If you want to breathe a little deeper, move a little slower, or immerse yourself in nature’s beauty - this is the place.

Climbing the mountain’s staircase, I lost count of the steps, focusing only on my breath, in and out. At the top, I stepped into the Buddha room and felt overwhelming wave of emotion. I cried freely, pouring my heart out to the universe, asking for my family’s safety, health, and happiness.

The story from my yoga retreat in Sri Lanka starts on February 29th, 2024. It lasted for 8 days, ending on my birthday, March 8. My celebration was having small victories. I got up before sunrise in the middle of the jungle, I ate good and nourishing food, I practiced yoga at 8 in the morning when the monkeys were above me and I wasn’t scared for a second, I made deep conection with five women I haven't met before, I was surfing on waves and was good at it - also made me reflect on life movement but that's another story.

Most of all I can truly say I was stepping out of the familiar, safe and known zones I usually live in. I gave myself the courage I needed to open my heart, to be myself for all the good and the less good of who I am.

No doubt, being around those women made me feel accepted and accept them as well. To meet a group of people you haven’t met before, and presenting yourself, at any age, means you are showing up to tell your story. The story you also need to tell to tourself every day. It was, and still, a journey of letting go, embracing new connections, and being true to myself.
