TINOS ON FILM
If you want to know about one of the most unknown, crazy, energetic islands I have ever visited, meet Tinos Island in Greece. My sister discovered this island and shared the secret with me. In Tinos, you need a car to explore. It's a big island with lots of villages, and known for its marble crystal Rocky Mountains. The residents of the island are creative, special, and calm people. Tions is a place to relax, be naked, visit incredible beaches, eat good food, listen to fantastic music, feel love, be mystical, laugh hard, drink raki, and move around.

Since we met great artists, we ate good, healthy well-made food - here are my suggestions for a trip to Tinos.

First, I recommend landing in Athens, you can also land somewhere else, but two nights in Athens will not harm anyone, if you want my list of Athens for 2-3 days, here is a link.

If you go to Athens - take a taxi to Piraeus or Rafina port. Book a ferry to Tinos.  I prefer the long 4-hour ferry, that way you can enjoy the sea (take a seat outside!) Arriving at Tinos port, there's a car rental close by. They will tell you at the counter that you must close the car doors otherwise it will turn over the car. That's because of the northern winds that can be crazy.

We stayed in Under the Sun. It's located up on the mountain, the room was amazing, each one is unique - there are only five rooms or something like that.

This image was taken with a Rico 4 film camera, in the old city, after a good coffee at Mayou Cafe.

For dinner I suggest visiting Maria and Yanes at their homey restaurant E-xo Maria we ate there on our first night. We arrived at dark, we were exhausted, tired, and a bit scared by the roads (but don’t worry about it, it's easy to get). Going to that restaurant made things much more relaxed. The minute we got there, we sat down, saw the menu, and understood this was a place with good food and good music. It’s not like Greek classic taverna, it’s fusion, it’s soul, it’s yummy, it’s decorated, it’s comfy, honestly you don’t want to leave. We ate there almost every night.
For shopping in Tinos - I suggest visiting the creative studio of Zosma. Very talented, cool, hip, not pretentious, and artsy, we fell in love with the design and the designer and came back for more.
